Recap of USCG Presentation at Ballast Water Management Forum in Korea

Captain Jennifer F. Williams, Director of Inspections and Compliance for the U.S. Coast Guard, address about 250 members of the international shipping community last month during Korea Maritime Week. Williams presentation was part of a three-part Ballast Water Forum session titled “Challenges and tasks for the smooth implementation of the Ballast Water Convention.” Williams’s remarks centered on how the U.S. Coast Guard is shifting away from issuing ballast water compliance extensions and is instead focusing more on compliance and enforcement.

The Coast Guard Maritime Commons posted a recap of her comments at http://mariners.coastguard.dodlive.mil/2018/07/06/7-6-2018-recap-of-coast-guard-remarks-during-korea-maritime-week/
